What was I doing last friday night? Oh ya know, hanging out with some other pretty cool bloggers and shopping at two local boutiques (you know my weakness for boutiques.. and accessories.. and coffee.. but thats all beside the point). I can’t wait to share some other photos from our St. Louis Fashion Week.
But to get you started, here are some from Blue Bird Apparel (with their fun, live window models) and from CLR-MNSTR , boutique and artspace. Both had such a fun vibe to them and are conveniently right next door to each other. My little sister, Natalie, had just flown back from New York that day and kindly came along as my date (or really assistant; “Natalie, write that down..take a picture of that.. do you think this is cute?”)

Boots and Sweaters on my mind but I can’t yet say goodbye to my summer shorts …
P.s. I cut my hair!!

Well, where to begin? I hadn’t intended on neglecting LTR as much as I did, but as it happened, life has been crazy and Learn To Rock It, though always on the forefront of my mind, had to be placed on a back burner. But I think it’s time we pick up from where we left off.
Shall we?
Lunch with friends, storm rolling in, fun star dress, had a good day.

This Jean Jacket has saved my life (I know, so dramatic). But so often I have needed just an extra layering piece for indoors and I always choose this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn it this past spring and summer– especially with dresses and skirts. I have yet to play with Jean on jean, but that should be fun too!

As you know by now, Matt and I really enjoy coffee and espresso. I can almost drink it black now (that’s huge!). We started going to these coffee tastings at our local Starbucks, where each session focus’ on different roasts and pairings. Its a lot of fun because we get to sample different coffee roasts and actually notice the different flavors that come out based on where they were grown and what we pair with them. Plus, everyone there is super into it and it’s fun to make fun of them… until I realize I’m just as into it. Plus, its taught me to look at coffee in a different way–actually enjoy it– rather than just gulping it down to get me through the day.
This was our second tasting and especially fun because it focused on pairing chocolate with different coffee roasts. Say whaaaaa? Two of my favorite things in one place? All of the chocolate was hand made by a local chocolatier, Rick Jordan (who makes the most delicious, delectable, delicacies you have ever eaten!).
Here are some steps we go through to best “taste” the coffee.
1. Smell – Wave your hand over the cup towards your nose and take in what you are smelling
2. Slurp – Like the annoying way your parents always told you not to
3.Locate – Where is the coffee hitting your tongue?
4.Describe – what are you tasting? Is the flavor more citrus-y, smokey, fruity, sweet, bitter, etc.
I know this all sounds crazy but it really works. Plus I feel so intellectual.

I love these photos from Dust Jacket Attic! I always hop over there to check out their featured editorials for decor or fashion inspiration. I really like the retro look of this shoot and the swimsuit pictured here is adorable. Last night Matt made me close my eyes saying he had a surprise for me, and it was a 50′s inspired swimsuit that I’d been wanting from American Apparel!!! Can’t wait to be on a vacation with Matt…whenever and wherever we go. Greek Isles anyone? Excuse me while I close my eyes and dream for a bit….
Learn To Rock It: here and here are some 50′s suits from asos, and here are some haute hippie lace shorts I’ve been eyeing. Kinda like the ones she has on here!
